Peggy McIntosh, an educational innovator, and feminist activist, is best known for her seminal 1989 article, “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack,” which revolutionized discussions on privilege.
Founder of the National SEED Project on Inclusive Curriculum, McIntosh's work has shaped professional development in education, while her 40+ published papers have influenced discourse on systemic inequalities. With a career spanning 58 years at institutions like Harvard University and Wellesley College, McIntosh's unyielding commitment to confronting oppression earned her Harvard's Centennial Medallion.
